1- This feature is composed of several sub-features some of which have sub-features of their own. For the sake of brevity they are not listed here with the exception of the Still Gallery based features since they can be listed separately without impacting the overall runtime of the parent feature(s) cumulative features.
2- This feature also appears on other releases of films in the Lord of the Rings trilogy.
3- Both versions of the film are included on a single "flipper" disc which seems to have resulted in a video presentation that is inferior to each respective version's individual releases.
4- The Bluray and DVD releases of the Extended Version share the exact same Appendices Bonus Discs which are DVDs regardless of the format of the main movie. This does not apply to the Limited Edition DVD release.

NOTES:
Add the Theatrical Version Bluray for the Theatrical Version and its features, almost all of which do not appear on any Extended Edition release. Note that other than a few game trailers that appear on the Bluray movie disc, the DVD release of the Theatrical Version includes the same features (in fact the bonus features disc is identical save for the trailers and is a DVD in either set) as the Bluray so if you are satisfied with the Standard Definition version of the Theatrical Version and don't mind losing the game trailers than the DVD release might be available at a cheaper price. Luckily the exact same DVD for the Collector's Gift Set Bonus DVD can be found and purchased separately so add that DVD and your feature set is complete.
