1- The Criterion releases have a different, shorter version of this feature that runs ~13 minutes. The Special Edition DVD release includes Moore referencing the fact that the Academy would not allow them to use the footage from the show along with a description of the event including a recounting of the speech. The Criterion releases actually includes the footage from the show thus the reference to not being able to use the footage and the subsequent descriptions of it were removed.
2-The Special Edition DVD has a different, shorter version of this feature that runs ~12 minutes. Ironically the The Criterion release creates an opposite of the situation for footnote #1 above. The Special Edition DVD includes footage from Cannes (red carpet and awards show) that was removed the Criterion releases.

This release includes a nice selection of features but is incomplete. It is also the only release on Bluray so without it you lose the HD audio/video presentation. Although the Criterion releases themselves have exclusive features, they also have alternate versions of features that include Criterion exclusive footage while at the same time losing footage from the previous Special Edition DVD release. |
